The YMCA has long been a beloved place. I can get my workouts in while my kids are having a great time safely playing, and get a lot of work done in the cafe. I rely a lot on the child care as a mom of 4 who’s also an entrepreneur and entertainer, as those couple hours of child care really add up to a LOT of quality work time for me. Otherwise, I work from home, where I’m also a SAHM. I love the steam room and sauna at this location, especially when I have a show/performance to prepare for. What I am very disappointed in is the strict rule (that I recently became aware of) regarding the studio rooms. I drive quite a bit extra to come to this location to use the studio room to practice alone between their scheduled classes, and I’ve appreciated this since my 2010 Y membership. Now, no one is allowed to use the studios during off-hours. This is a huge part of my life right now, being able to count on this location and space to practice. I’m disappointed and feel let down by the Y.

It's like a country club. Nicely redone pools.

It's impossible to get a swim lane and the hours are severely limited, with no discount in the monthly fees.

We love being able to go surfing and afterwards drive up the hill and Go to the Y and swim and workout. The pool can get crowded but most people are cool about sharing lanes. I often see Friends I have known most of my life there, which makes it a fun place to go.

Pros: kind helpful staff! Clean, GREAT outdoor splash pad!! Cons: it is absolutely horrible for wheelchair/stroller accessibility. Also, there is only one diaper changing location in the entire place aside from within the child watch area, and where it’s located is super inconvenient for those that have strollers (esp doubles) that they need to take with them because it means jamming it through three different doors just to get to the diaper changing station. I have a double stroller that I have to keep my twins in because I also have a three-year-old so I can’t just let them roam free they need to be strapped into the stroller. It makes it literally almost impossible to get to the diaper changing station that is in the family area. Every other YMCA in the area has accessible doors that have the option to be opened automatically which should be a mainstay. PLEASEEEEEE get accessible doors here!! Aside from that, great location! Also, not a huge deal but I wish they had an indoor pool. I have had skin cancer and I love taking the water classes so I wish they had an indoor pool.
